New face found for Sucker Punch

After losing Amanda Seyfried to her prior commitment starring in HBO's Big Love, director Zack Snyder has found his new lead actor in Emily Browning for Sucker Punch.

Written by Snyder and Steve Shibuya, the Watchmen director's next project centers on a young woman who has been committed to a mental institution. In there she creates an imaginary world to deal with the harsh reality of her existence. Snyder has a nice cast of actress talent already assembled for the film including Evan Rachel Wood (The Wrestler), Emma Stone (Superbad), Abbie Cornish (Elizabeth: The Golden Age) and Vanessa Hudgens (High School Musical). Snyder has made comments that the film's story is going to have a lot of fantastic imagery in it along with plenty of action, and that the made-up reality that the lead character experiences is going to be visually strange and exciting.

Filming is scheduled to get underway in September.
