The 22nd James Bond film will arrive on DVD and Blu-ray on March 24, 2009. Fox Home Entertainment and MGM will bring Quantum of Solace on home video to North American consumers on that day and the day before to fans living in the United Kingdom.
After grossing over half a billion dollars worldwide and proving itself to be one of the biggest hits in the spy franchise, Quantum of Solace picks up immediately after the conclusion of Casino Royale. Bond is grieving the death of Vesper Lynd and sets out to find the people responsible for her death, a shadowy cabal of global business leaders known only by their group name, Quantum. Along the way James finds an unlikely ally in the form of Camille (Olya Kurylenko), a woman who also has her own reasons for seeking revenge on Dominic Greene (Mathieu Amalric), one of the leaders of Quantum.
Quantum of Solace will be available as single-disc and two-disc versions. The single-disc will include two bonus features, the "Another Way to Die" music video by Alicia Keyes and Jack White and the film's theatrical trailers. The two-disc special edition DVD will include all of the extra features in the single-disc verion as well as:
- "Bond on Location" - a 24-minute special feature
- Start of Shooting featurette
- On Location featurette
- Olga Kurylenko and the Boat Chase featurette
- interview with director Marc Forster
- a featurette on the film's music
- crew files
The Blu-ray edition includes all of the two-disc's bonus features.
The three versions of Quantum of Solace will carry a suggested retail price of $29.98 US/$43.48 CDN (single-disc DVD), $34.98 US/$45.98 CDN (two-disc special edition) and $39.99 US/$49.99 CDN (Blu-ray).
