While most of the world only cares about Shia LaBeouf getting decked by some yahoo outside a downtown Vancouver nightclub a few days ago, there's also some showbiz news of his to report. The Transformers star is now attched to topline A Giant, a drama/fantasy that has Monster House director Gil Kenan also attached as its director.
The project would see the 25-year-old play a man who's 20-feet-tall, which is more than a few feet higher than the tallest man on record. The giant lives as a recluse inside his own home until he begins a friendship with a rebellious woman who is his next door neighbor. The two eventually fall in love, and their relationship is described as a "modern day adult dramatic fairy tale."
The Jim Henson Company is involved with the project, which suggests that there may be other fantasy elements at play. Also involved creatively are AngeleFine Productions and Lava Bear Films.
And if you haven't heard about Shia's fisticuffs, he's in Vancouver shooting The Company You Keep, a Robert Redford-directed thriller. There's video of him getting into a fight down in the city's pub/nightclub street, but it looks more like the other guy was the bigger problem.
