The Shue fits for Piranha 3-D
Posted by Patrick Sauriol on Monday, April 13, 2009
Those flying fish in director Alexander Aja's Piranha 3-D are apparently pretty close to finding their first appetizer. According to Moviehole owner Clint Morris, Hollow Man and Leaving Las Vegas star Elizabeth Shue is in secret talks to star in the remake.
Morris spoke with two sources that confirmed the 45-year-old star is in negotiations to play Sheriff Julie Forester. described by Mr. Moviehole as "a take-charge authority figure in the community of Lake Victoria - where the action/ankle-biting takes place. She's the mother of Jake (one of the central characters in the film - the shy teenager who gets to prove his worth when human-eating fish threaten his family and friends), Laura and Zane."
This is the second remake of the original Piranha but the first in 3-D, so Count Floyd is happy. Dimension Films has slated the picture for a March 10, 2010 opening.
