The market for custom made action figures may be niche, but it's also a section of fandom that produces some really neat looking things. Case in point for today: one of a kind figures of Star Wars characters done up in the garb and gear of wartime 1940s.
The figures were made by a guy named Sillof and are just the latest in a long line of custom action figures that he's created. In the new WWII Star Wars action figures he's got Han Solo wearing a bomber jacket and packing a German Mauser pistol; Chewbacca with a Thompson machine gun; a groovy-looking Luke Skywalker/Lucas S. Walker that has an electrical cord attached to his lightsaber; WWII versions of C-3PO and R2-D2; a General Ben Kenworthy; and a menacing looking Reichsführer Vater, the all-powerful commander of the Nazi special mission soldiers.
Sillof has also made steampunk-inspired Star Wars figures as well as alternate versions of DC and Marvel Comics heroes (and villains, too.) Look at the two sets of Star Wars WWII figures here, and then go poke your head around the rest of his site to see what other great figures Sillof has made. His steampunk-inspired Star Wars figures are my favorite.

Sillof is an incredible designer when it comes to custom action figures. I love the WWII set as well as his "Steam Wars" line, with it's Steampunk-meets-Jules Verne-meets-pulp-vibe. Great stuff!
