Posted by Patrick Sauriol on Tuesday, January 10, 2012

2012 marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of Universal Pictures. To celebrate the company's entry into the three-digit club, Universal is kicking off a year-long celebration and revealing a new 100th anniversary logo which it will shortly attach to its upcoming new releases.
The new 100th anniversary Universal logo will make its debut in front of Dr. Seuss' The Lorax, arriving in theaters on March 2, 2012.
Other planned celebration events include the restoration of 13 classic Universal movies including All Quiet on the Western Front, The Birds, Buck Privates, the 1931 version of Dracula and the Spanish version of Dracula, Frankenstein, Jaws, Schindler's List, Out of Africa, Pillow Talk, Bride of Frankenstein, The Sting and To Kill a Mockingbird.
Also planned will be theme park celebration events; a limited edition 100th anniversary collector's series of the restored movies; and a social media campaign which will be spearheaded on the newly launched www.universal100th.com website.
