This is......bad. Just really the not good kind of bad. Frankly, think it's all talk. There is no way in hell they will have Del Toro, Jim Carey and Sean Penn if they really make this thing. I've read better fantasy cast fantasies at Mania.

The Farrelly brothers have been working on a Three Stooges feature film for a decade. They've wanted Benicio del Toro to play Moe, they've got Jim Carrey in talks to add 40 pounds to his beanpole body to play Curly and now they've got the icing on the cake: this year's Oscar-winning Best Actor for Milk, Sean Penn, set to play Larry.
The film is set up at MGM and the Farrellys are hoping that filming gets underway this fall for a 2010 release. As they have with all of their other comedies like There's Something About Mary, Kingpin, Shallow Hal and Fever Pitch, the brothers have also written the script for Three Stooges.
Variety notes that over the ten years that the Farrellys have tried to make the film the rights have bounced between three studios. C3 Entertainment owns the Stooges license and the two owners, Earl and Robert Benjamin, will be executive producers on the movie.
No other details about the film's storyline are known except that it will definitely be an original story in the Stooges lore. There hasn't been a new Three Stooges film since 1975.
They should have gotten the Broken Lizard guys to do this, with Farver playing Curly. But that's only if someone put a gun to the studio exec's head and DEMANDED they remake the Stooges. I'm assuming that didn't happen. Is it cliche to complain about remakes now? Are they just a way of life at this point? Is it like Battlestar say: This had happened before and it will happen again? GRRRR!
theres no way Jim carrey will put on 40+ pounds and shave his head to play Curly.. c'mon be real...
acutually, do the stooges as b/w CGI characters instead... if i'not wrong, the sons of the original Moe and Larry both PLAY Moe and Larry (I think in Vegas?) and they do a damn fine job at it too.
He shaved his head for the Kaufman moobie.
At his age, if he starts gaining weight, he will have a heck of a time getting it off.
