Writers munch on ZMD adaptation
Posted by Patrick Sauriol on Monday, February 9, 2009
Another comic book movie adaptation to report of is Red 5's ZMD: Zombies of Mass Destruction. The project is set up at Benderspink, the same place where the Vertigo comic book series Y: The Last Man struggles to get the greenlight go-ahead.
ZMD was created by Kevin Grevioux, the guy that played the werewolf Raze in the Underworld series of films (and he also co-created the characters.) The comic follows a team of special forces soldiers that are sent on a mission to the Middle East to stop an enemy force's experiment: creating an unstoppable army of undead that never get tired, can't be killed and will continually attack the living.
Dirk Blackman and Howard McCain, the guys that wrote the screenplay for Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, will adapt the comic into script format. McCain also directed the recently released Outlander starring Jim Caviezel.

arent the regular type of zombies the type that never get tired, cant be killed and constantly attack the living?
Considering how shabby our intell has been on bin Laden's whereabouts, how would our guys even know about secret experiments going on in the Middle East?
Still I'm a sucker for a good zombie premise... after all I did rent the remake of Day of the dead.... ouch.
