Modern Family's Sofia Vergara speaks about her best assets
Posted by Patrick Sauriol on Tuesday, September 14, 2010
One of the most eye catching qualities about ABC's Modern Family sitcom is one of its stars, Sofia Vergara. She's so hot that when her little sister got a movie part in Fright Night, it was entertainment news. It helps that the show is funny and not reaching for the lowest common denominator, plus its recent Emmy wins will certainly help boost ratings when it returns this fall. But let's face it, Sofia has got a lot of men wagging their tongues at her, and wondering how the hell a guy like Al Bundy could land her as his second wife. This show isn't supposed to be science fiction, right?
Vergara's savvy to the reason why she's on TV. She recently played up the fact that she has ample cleavage during the Emmy broadcast when she was asked to film a scene of Modern Family in 3D -- and all she had to do was walk toward the camera. But it wasn't all fun when the Columbia actress was a teenager and growing up well endowed.
"I wanted surgery," she told Self magazine in an interview this month (and picked up by People.) "I told my mom, 'As soon as I'm older, please take these boobs away.' She said, 'Sofia, shut up. When you're 18, it will be different.' 'I was like, 'Why would I want these huge tits?' I'm a 34 DD. It's hard to dress. No matter what I wear, I look like a stripper."
Gentlemen, let's try and take this as a learning lesson: while it may look great from our end, you try packing around 20 extra pounds of flesh on your chest and also try to keep your posture straight.
Vergara's come around to realizing that what was once her enemies are now her friends. "I'm grateful I have them, and honestly, they've helped me a lot in my career," she now says. "For every 100 roles that come out for another actress, there are two that fit somebody like me. I mean, I cannot play a scientist. I know who I am. I know how I look. I know how I sound. I'm not going to tell my agent, 'Book me for Schindler's List 2.' "
Can Warner Bros. go with the idea of having a latin Wonder Woman? I'm down with that.
