James Franco and Anne Hathaway to host Oscars
Posted by Patrick Sauriol on Monday, November 29, 2010

In somewhat of an unusual move, the producers of next year's Oscars broadcast have hired 28-year-old Anne Hathaway and 32-year-old James Franco to host the awards show. So what happens if Franco gets a Best Actor nomination for his performance in 127 Hours and wins it? Could be awwwwkward.
Oscars telecast producers Bruce Cohen and Don Mischer are upbeat about having two good-looking young people host the show, saying that the pair are "fresh, exciting and multi-talented." And as Entertainment Weekly points out, the couple also have less than their combined age of one of last year's Oscars co-hosts, Steve Martin (who is 65). The Oscars are undoubtedly hoping that younger faces might result in an uptick for the ratings. And if the Hathaway/Franco duo doesn't pan out, then there's always the idea to skew even younger and ask the Twilight trio of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner to come play on the golden stage.
Sunday, February 27, 2011 is the scheduled night for the 83rd Academy Awards show.
