Japanese TV goes TMZ for Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark
Posted by Patrick Sauriol on Saturday, December 25, 2010

Broadway's big Spider-Man musical is still plagued by accidents. The most recent injury occured on December 20 when the performer playing the part of Kraven the Hunter fell 20 feet into the orchestra pit when his tether broke. He's currently in hospital recuperating from serious injuries.
The play now has an internationally infamous image and with it comes the tabloid following. Leading the pack is this bizarre creation by the same Japanese news program that brought us the CG recreation of Tiger Woods' car "incident" involving his wife and a golf club. This time NMA TV has cracked the whip on its programming team and made a recreation of what's going on behind the scenes of Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark. By recreation, what I really mean is "bizarre storytelling" because I don't think Bono pushed The Edge at any point in the play's difficulties.
Turn off the Dark is working out its logisitical issues (as well as figuring out its second clunky act). Shows won't resume until January, giving the NMA animations some time to make a Godzilla meets Angelina Jolie short.
