Fox releases more from Star Wars: The Complete Saga on blu-ray
Posted by Den Shewman on Thursday, May 5, 2011
Fans showed George Lucas love, and he returned it with cover art, images and a short teaser.
When Lucasfilm set up Maythe4th.starwars.com, it was a mystery as to the teaser site’s purpose. As of yesterday, we know it was to promote the blu-ray release of Star Wars: The Complete Saga. When Lucasfilm made the big announcement, they promised that if fans shared the teaser site a certain number of times, they’d be rewarded with some Star Wars goodies. The chart at the bottom of the site’s page is fun, as it tracks the share progress of various countries. Let’s get those numbers up, Spain! (A tip of the hat to Theforce.net, which has doing wonderful work as always in tracking the site.)
Fans shared, and the site’s share counter now reads 15,399 (which actually seems pretty low for all the Star Wars fans in the world). In thanks, Lucasfilm released a video showing a number of images from the nine-disc Saga set: production design and art, behind the scenes, even maquettes. And yes, they are in order, by film.
Go to Maythe4th.starwars.com to check out the video, then hit Theforce.net to see high resolution box art for all three sets (the Saga, the Prequel Trilogy and the Original Trilogy) and documentary promotional images. Lastly, check out the short teaser video below that Lucasfilm has put up on YouTube:
