Report: Lost Boys 3 is a go
Posted by Patrick Sauriol on Tuesday, March 17, 2009
It looks like the DVD sales for Lost Boys 2: The Tribe were appetizing enough for Warner Home Video. According to horror news website Bloody Disgusting Warner Premiere has given a greenlight to make Lost Boys 3, the second direct-to-disc sequel to the 1987 cult hit.
The site also breaks word that Corey Feldman will be back to reprise his vampire hunter character Edgar Frog and that Lost Boys 3 will give Feldman far more screentime than what he was given in The Tribe. In addition to starring in LB3 Feldman will also be bumped up and get a producer credit.
The project also has a screenwriter, one Evan Charnov. Charnov wrote the pilot episode for Fearless, a pilot ordered by The WB Network in 2004 that was not picked up for series commitment.
One final bit of insider news: Bloody Disgusting reports that, at this stage, it's highly unlikely that fellow Lost Boys alumni Corey Haim will be involved in the third film. While there was a coda at the end of The Tribe that set the stage for a sequel that could have featured Feldman's Edgar Frog and Haim's Sam Emerson together on-screen, that doesn't appear to be the storyline that the Lost Boys 3 people are pursuing at this time.
