Cool guys don't look at explosions
Posted by Patrick Sauriol on Monday, June 1, 2009
Last night at the MTV Movie Awards host Andy Samburg showed a video featuring a new parody song, "Cool Guys Don't Look at Explosions". It's become a cliche in modern cinema for the hero or villain to walk casually away from a large explosion that they set off, and if it's a really special moment, the hero/villain strides away in slow motion. Samburg parodied the tired pop culture phenomena perfectly and as back up he had Will Ferrell as Neil Diamond and Star Trek helmer J.J. Abrams on the '80s keyboard.
OK, now that we've all had our laugh can Hollywood stop it with these slo-mo walk aways from explosions? Thank you.
