Director shows support for Polanski by withdrawing his movie
Posted by Patrick Sauriol on Thursday, October 1, 2009

The director of Coco Chanel and Igor Stravinsky has made the decision to remove his film from the Zurich Film Festival in protest over Roman Polanski's arrest. Jan Kounen directed the period drama which stars Mads Mikkelsen (Casino Royale) and Anna Mouglalis and the film was scheduled to be shown out of competition this coming Friday. Surprisingly, the director is also backed by one of the film's distributors.
"We're disgusted by the hypocrisy of the Swiss authorities. They shelter all kinds of thieves under banking secrecy and they sell out a film master," said Vincent Maraval, one of the executives working for Wild Bunch, a French film sales company that represents the movie. Maraval also commented that the organizers at the fest should shut it down to show their disgust against the arrest of Polanski, who had flown into Zurich to receive an award at the festival.
mrbear- Amen. I have started boycotting films, directors, actors and actressess who support Him. I guess this means I dont have to see CoCo anymore when my wife wants too. So on that note I want to thank Jan Kounen for saving me the effort of faking sick when she wanted to go.

Two wrongs don't make a right! Whoever the Swiss do, or do not, shelter the fact remains that Polanski is guilty of the crime he has been charged with.
