Thanks, Ipsy! The title made it much easier to find the video.

When that woman first started doing punches and kicks to shoot energy blasts, I thought the video had potential to be even better than 'Adama paints the Wall'. I felt the video did not live up to that potential. I kind of wish she made her hands into a gun and started shooting while making "Pyew! Pyew!" noises with her mouth. It would've been kinda like Ritter in 'Real Men'.

You best not mention Real Men. Adam will have a stroke knowing Jim Belushi was in something that awesome.

Oddly enough, though, you're more than willing to talk about the rest of the show.

I like how fans basically acknowledge that the show they love started out awful, but then tell you that if you slog your way through seasons and seasons of awfulness it will eventually get to the point where it's supposedly a good show.

If you do decide to slog through those seasons and seasons (did no one notice the early seasons were terrible while they were knee-deep in their first-run terribleness?), I hope you enjoy Straczynski's super-deep philosophizing. It'll make you feel like a teenager again. By this I mean it will remind you of that Intro to Philosophy class you took in the eleventh grade.

I said rough around the edges.  I enjoy all five seasons.  I enjoy the first season slightly less than the others.

I also don't like being lumped in with all the Straczynski fanboys.  I'm not one.

That happened and we all let it happen.

In JMS's defense, his taking over of Superman and Wonder Woman titles didn't directly lead to them feeling the need to reboot their entire universe. I don't think it did, anyways.

"Rough around the edges" is code for awful.

Point taken about the fanboys, Ipsy.  I didn't mean to lump you in with them, though it may have come across that way.

Those Superman issues he wrote were the shit.

Minus the "the."

If anyone wants to watch some hilariously bad scifi, I can't recommend anything higher than Land of the Giants. I only watched (i.e. suffered through) the first season, and then the first and last episodes of the second season (I just wanted to see if they actually ended it or if it was cancelled). The final episode was entitled "Graveyard of Fools", and what that entails is the fat dumb guy in the group having hallucinations of a giant version of himself yelling at him that he will die in the Graveyard of Fools. It was riveting. Also, I'm 100% sure that the script for each episode was simply a list of the giant props they needed.

It doesn't help that the chick in that scene from Babylon 5 sort of looks like Kathy Griffin.

Who really thought that method of weapons control would be better or more accurate than pushing a button? What if the "gunner" got tired?

How can anyone do anything but laugh at the thought of Kathy Griffin kicking lasers at a starship?

For the first time in a while I looked at the large version of Goiter's avatar - and it gave me a pretty good laugh. Not because the picture itself is that funny, although it is pretty amusing, but because I realize how much I imagine Goiter's online-persona actually looking like this rather than what he looks like in real life. I see Goiter on a fairly regular basis in real life, but whenever I read one of his posts on here the image I have in front of me isn't his actual likeness but the old guy in that picture.

That may not seem as strange to you as it does to me.

Does the same hold true for my avatar?

It's less obvious that your avatar represents a person, although you can tell when you look a bit closer even at the lower resolution. The globe usually attracts my attention more than the shape below it, which is why your avatar strikes me as a more abstract image than Goiter's avatar. In short: no, I don't quite associate your avatar with your actual likeness the way I associate Goiter's with his.

Originally, I was going to write that I imagine a giant floating orb talking whenever you make a post, but I thought that it would have been too mean of a response.

I was killing time, trying not to sleep (because Lord forbid that I let myself sleep*) and I decided to read this thread, a thread I have been ignoring.

The point i'm tryign to make is: Holy crap! All of "Reboot" is on DVD!

I so have to buy that.

*I seem to be regressing. I have begun to fight against sleep, much like a baby. I love to sleep, so i'm not sure why I fight so hard. Probably because of all the stuff I want to do, of course instead of doing it I read threads called 'random' and then price check old cartoons that I currently can't afford. I have three lovley bits of short fiction in my head that I really want to write, but I have done nothing but browse the internet for the past several hours.

So far, there are only two negative reviews for Deathly Hallows II.  There are fifty-seven reviews in total, and the average rating is a staggeringly high 8.5/10.

Potter fans are up in arms because the two negative reviews both come from the same site (Urban Cinefile).  Also, according to people in the comments section, the two people are also husband and wife.  Also, if you visit the site (where you will see both of their pretty short reviews on the same page), you will see that the site, itself, calls their mutual reaction "mixed."

It's amusing to me to see Potter fans so upset about it, but I can understand why they are upset.  I imagine there will be some other negative reviews once the reviews really start rolling in.  It would be kind of funny, though, if this married couple ended up being the only two critics to give unfavorable reviews to a movie with otherwise universal praise.

Quint over at AICN was really upset that some of the more cinematic battle scenes were either glossed over or left out completely. He also felt that Snape got shafted once again. He didn't give it a negative review, but those things really seemed to stick in h is craw.

I've often wondered why Yates skips over the big cinematic moments, or even big, important moments (the battle in Half-Blood Prince, the funeral). I'm not yet sure if his gripes are too fanboyish or not.  I'll find out stupid early Friday morning. I'm taking my daughter to a 3am screening. I am so stupid.

Married couples should not be allowed to both be movie critics. And if they are, they definitely should not be able to post both their reviews on the same site. And if they do, they better be of different opinions on the movie. And if they're not, they need to at least be of different religious and political persuasions. And if they're not, they need to be at least be of different nationalities, with neither having the same first language. And if they're not, they should each only review half the movie. And if they didn't, at least one of them should have reviewed the movie while standing on their head, and the other reviewed it blind folded.

There are 69 reviews up.  There are still only the two negative ones.

Another reason people are upset about the husband and wife who gave it two negative reviews is that they gave positive reviews to all the Twilight movies.  Also: Cars 2 and Zookeeper.
