I don't get to watch many cartoons outside of Spongebob, Flapjack, and Phineas and Ferb, but every once in a while, I get to see Batman: The Brave and the Bold. Holy crap is it HILARIOUS!

Actually, as I reread that, I remember that's not the way it works.

Vote Lib-Dems everybody!

That goes without saying. Well, it *did* go without saying. And then you had to go and say it. That's energy that could have been better spent in the Make-Fun-of-Dalty-While-He's-Sleeping Thread.

It would be amusing if the Lib Dems did well as they might have to do something rather than just talk shit about everything.

Everyone knows it is time for a change and that the Labour Party have been a very bad thing for this country, however the Conservatives are yet to convince the electorate completely.

They are also impacted by the Conservative vote being diluted on the side by some fringe parties (BNP, UKIP etc). Very small, but if it happens in a key marginal seat then things can get interesting.

One of the biggest issues is that the Labout Party have spent 12 years gerrymandering on a grand scale. They have grown the public sector so much since they came to power, run an 'open door' immigration policy, introduced layers of state bureaucracy and bankrolled a generation of economically inactives.

Very few people in the immigrant community or on the bankroll of the state (either employed or on welfare) will vote Conservative. The Conservatives believe in small government and little interference from the State plus tighter controls on immigration, therefore it would be like turkeys voting for Christmas.

The preferred nomenclature is "Turks" (also, sometimes, "the Turkic peoples"), Dalty.

And just so you know, there are Turkic peoples who celebrate Christmas: the Chuvash of Chuvashia and the Gagauz of Moldova.

I know this is almost unprecedented, but I am actually going to pull this back on topic.

I found myself watching Penguins of Madagascar this weekend and it might be my new favorite cartoon.

Has that show been around long? Oddly enough, I saw it this weekend, too. My mother and grandmother came to visit, which means we spent most of Saturday in thrift stores. While waiting on them to finish doing their thing at the Salvation Army thrift store (our second of three stops), I read through at least twenty different endings for The Mystery of Chimney Rock (Book 5 from the Choose Your Own Adventure series), and then read a considerable portion of Bill Cosby's Love and Marriage. Decided to purchase the latter. Set me back twenty-five cents.

Anyway, Penguins of Madagascar was on while I was reading. It seemed like it would have been a worthwhile show to watch. I glanced up every now and then. If I hadn't been reading, I probably would have watched it. I didn't know of the show's existence before Saturday.

It's pretty funny. Better than the Madagascar movies by a long shot.

I am completely incapable of wearing hats. No matter which style I try, none ever suits me. Not even baseball caps. Must have the wrong shaped face.

Well there's your problem. You're supposed to wear them on top of your head, not on your face.

With a utalitarian haircut, an inability to carry off hats and an unquenchable desire to travel to lots of very warm and sunny places, I have to learn to live with either looking like a tit or get used to sunburn.

They're still called baseball caps in England, a land where there is no baseball?

I've got a pretty big head. Never in my life (until yesterday!) have I been able to find a baseball (or any other kind, really) hat that comfortably fit on my head. The fact that I have one I can wear now thrills me to no end. I damn near slept in the thing last night.

Yes, they are indeed referred to as baseball caps. We do have baseball here, it's just played by women and children and has never really made it any further, a bit like soccer in the US ;)

The caps, if worn for any other reason than to keep the sun out of ones eyes, are usually to be found perched upon the empty head of a complete cunt.

It's not like in the US where people can rock the baseball cap look at just about every social event up to, but not including, weddings.

So basically...if ever I go to England, I have to leave my new hat at home?

Nah, you can get away with it, with the accent and the fact you are unlikely to be skulking around, up to no good, using the baseball cap in conjunction with a hoodie to avoid identification by CCTV.
