I don't get to watch many cartoons outside of Spongebob, Flapjack, and Phineas and Ferb, but every once in a while, I get to see Batman: The Brave and the Bold. Holy crap is it HILARIOUS!

I have my 20yr high school reunion this weekend. When the hell did I get old?? I don't feel old. I still play video games. I watch cartoons. I drive a cool sports car. I AM NOT OLD DAMNIT!

We were watching Al-Quaeda, and all this time our security services should have been keeping watch on Jakester's throbbing nutsack!-Dalton's chin dimple

Holy crap I can't wait for this show to air! This is a clip from Fox's Glee that airs this fall. To set up the clip, Mercedes is pissed off that clearly gay Kurt won't return her affections. Straight guys should love it too (for obvious reasons)!

Fine, new topic!

I just found this cool website through the Criterion Collection website. It's called TheAuteurs.com and it's a site for fans of all things cinema (basically movies that Criterion puts out). I haven't really explored it yet, but it has a great database of films, and you can watch most of them for free or a small fee (like $5). Check it out!

Heard on a street corner in NYC: "God will lift up the skirts of America and expose the heart of sin!"

Ok, #1, I may be gay, but I'm pretty sure you don't find the heart by lifting up the skirt, and #2, who knew that God was such a dirty old man? Oh, and why is America wearing a skirt in the first place?

I have a serious addiction to Quaker ranch flavored quakes.

My Grandad was a quaker. I really should make more effort to find out what they are all about, other than the manufacture of fine breakfast products.

Quakers are generally easy-going pacifist. I say generally because Nixon was a Quaker. Wrap your head around that one!

Yeah, my Grandpa served in the army in the Far East during WWII, then the RAF directly at the end of WWII. I don't think he was too pacifist when he was killing Japs and shooting down the Hun.

Funny, when I first read this, I thought: if he [your grandfather] participated in the Pacific campaign during Double-U Double-U Two he wouldn't have any opportunity to shoot the "Hun".

Then I remembered that the Huns were a collection of nomadic tribes ASIATIC in origin, and felt glad that I had not shot my mouth off so impetuously.

Then I reread your post and noticed that you do, indeed, mention that he ALSO went on to serve in the air force, where, presumably, he did have the opportunity to kill Germans.

Then I felt altogether stupid and questioned whether I should just forget posting this.

Then I realized how much time it had cost me to write it in the first place and came to the decision that if I wasted five minutes of my life writing this tripe, the least I can do is waste 30 seconds of yours reading it.

Think of me as a megaphone directed at God's eardrum, my child.

DCD, did your grandfather ever talk about his killing or was he the silent type when it came to the war?

I'd say it's more pulp than tripe.

Mostly it was anectdotal, kicked off by something I had done / was doing. Eg, when I went to India he then took great pleasure in telling me all the places in India he had billeted, then got out his pictures and talked me through them. When Iraq was in the news, he would talk about his time there and show me various pictures, maps, memorabilia etc. He spent time in Singapore and Burma as well. Very talkative about the the experiences, the sights, the locations. Not quite so forthcoming on the actual fighting itself, even when he had a medal for doing something.

I miss him.

My great-uncle was in India for WWII as a supply guy. He just goes on and on about what a hell-hole it was, and that I should never go there.

India rocks. It's an amazing country and a complete assault on the senses. You can't help but fall in love with the place. As it's so vast, I recommend the Rajhistan triangle of Delhi, Agra & Jaipur. Take in Ranthambore if you can and you might see some tigers in the wild. As it's such a mental place, a relaxing end to the trip in Goa is ideal, but not really India.

What are you waiting for man, get on a plane!!!!
