Resident Evil 1, 2 & 3 - Got a favorite?

Yes, there are general spoilers further down. If you haven't seen all three movies I'd adivse you to bail NOW.

Finally got around to seeing these sequentially. I saw the first one when it came out, but after seeing it again I liked it much better the second time around.

I loved the games, still do play occasionally, and along those lines I have to say I liked the second movie best of all. Even though it is always hard to beat the original, I found this one to be my favorite. It's the chaos that draws me. I prefer to see masses of humanity running for their lives, or battling it out for the turf with the zombies than see the "Day of the Dead" world where humans are the minority. Plus, we finally see the bad-ass Tyrant mutilate everything in his path. Everything ties nicely with the first movie.

Even though the premise of RE3 is just as scary and awful as any of the other movies' premises, I find it a downer in general. I must say I LOVED the ending of the third movie though, it makes you cheer for the home team while they strike back at all clueless patricians running the show.

I really enjoyed Resident Evil: Degeneration I thought it was just going to be another "escape from the airport" but then it kept going and going and getting more and more convoluted till the finale... and I walked away going "damn, even though this is CGI, this is one Resident Evil flick that I can show to my friends"

i also really liked RE1 and thought part 3 was ok but borrowed liberally from other horror flicks like Mad Max, The Birds, Day of the Dead and Resident Evil 1 but in the commentary they said that was kinda the whole point of the flick.

Resident Evil 2 I watched it and initially was dissapointed. I remember there was a season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer where she fought the big bad named A.D.A.M. the cyborg and she went all Matrix and stuff. I thought that Buffy season was better than Resident Evil 2 with its big bad and all... it kinda reminded me a little of that Buffy season. i own it and have not rewatched it... i probably should since i may have a different opinion of it.
