Just spent a wet, windy Sunday afternoon at the movies. Saw 'Rush'.
Fucking loved it. Really enjoyed it and thoroughly recommend it to you, my movie going chums (and Goiter) !
Hemsworth is great as Hunt, and the Nikki Lauda portrayal is uncanny. Loved seeing lots of Hunt's greatest TV interview quips played back.
It is almost a perfect way to wash the stench of 'Driven' from your eyeballs!
Ron Howard seems to have nailed 70s racing.
The theatre was practically deserted, but it was an early (noon) showing on a Sunday. I did say to my friend that I wanted everyone to go and see this, as then they might make more films like this.
Hemsworth is rapidly starting to get to Dwayne Johnson levels of on-screen charisma who can make anything watchable. I say this from the position of not having seen Red Dawn.
From what I know, or think I know, of Hunt from being a racing fan I think Hemsworth nailed him. Real-life friends of Hunt, including Lauda, have been very complimentary.
Just realised Peter Morgan, who wrote this, wrote 'The Queen' and also 'Frost / Nixon' as a play which Howard then turned into the film.
So Howard...... lay off Goldsman, get more Morgan!
I like the Hemsworths, because they help me gauge how tall I would be in the presence of other stars.
The Internet used to tell me they were both the same height, but it has added an inch to Hemsworth's height over the course of the last two years. It used to tell me he was 6' 3", but now it tells me he's anywhere from 6' 3.25" to 6' 4".
What the fuck's that all about, Internet?
Whatever the case, they look roughly the same height whenever I see them together in pictures.
Probably the same Internet that tells us that 43 year old actresses are 36.

I really want to see it, and not just because I think Hemsworth is the most attractive man alive.
Mostly, I think it's our duty to support Ron Howard every time he directs a drama free of the stink of Akiva Goldsman's writing. The more we support his Akiva Goldsman-free work, the more it'll encourage him not to work with Akiva Goldsman.
