I've seen some previews for it. Never played any of the earlier ones, I always thought it was just a knockoff of the GTA series. Anyone interested in it?

Interesting, sounds like a fun game. Unfortunately, since I am currently playing MW3, BF3, Arkham City, and still need to get back into Fallout New Vegas, finish GTA4, not to mention the fact I still play Black Ops and other shooters, I doubt I have time to get into a new series.
Truth. It's the same reason I passed on Arkham city and Skyrim. I knew both were too good to short them on time.
Ive been playing Saints Row the Third lately and its awesome! I like the fact that it's not serious and find myself laughing quite a bit on how ridiculous it is, but in a good way.
The missions are more enjoyable to play then the previous 2 and so far the replay value seems high to moderatly high. The characters, city and its inhabitants are over the top and that's what makes this game awesome, they developers don't take themselves serious and sometimes with all the serious ass games out now, it's nice to be able to play something for pure fun.
In other words, it's a popcorn game!

By all that is Holy my pre-order for "Saints Row the Third" had best be in the mail tomorrow.
or, yep, Saint's Row is awesome. It did start off as a GTA rip off, but more in a 'lets have fun with the concept' and less 'MONEY!'
The second game continues to be amazing fun, especially with fully intigrated co-op in all aspects of it (online only though, sadly.). Plus it better captures the tone of early GTA games then GTA4 did, preferring over the top action and humor to...whatever GTA4 was. Or to be less of a hater, If GTA4 is 'the lost and the damned' then Saints Row is 'ballad of Gay Tony' on a six-pack of redbull.
This third game looks balls-out amazing. I mean bhow many games let me live out my fantasy of being a super vigilante while wearing my purple bathrobe and mixing it up with masked mexican wrestlers?
