April 7, 2011 - Silent Hill: Revelation / more casting

Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix) and Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange) have now joined the cast.

"Malcolm is quite simply an icon of modern cinema and I've been a fan since I was a teenager when I managed to see A Clockwork Orange," said director Michael J. Bassett. "He has an amazing ability to bring new and unexpected dimensions to his characters and I know he will bring something unique and disturbing to Silent Hill."

"Carrie has displayed her enormous talent across all genres – from The Matrix Trilogy to Memento – and we are delighted for her to join the world of Silent Hill. She will certainly bring a new level of excitement to fans of the videogame franchise," added producer Samuel Hadida.

Also, we've added the first two released stills from the now-filming production, like this one that features Adelaide Clemens (as Heather Mason) weilding a pistol.

Having Malcom in a film only guarantees that his character will be interesting, not that the movie will be good.  Still, I'm kind of looking forward to this.  The first one was pretty creepy and atmospheric, and I thought, overall, not a bad video game translation.  It certainly had its problems but I think they got a lot right and I liked it well enough.

Count me in.
