March 23, 2009 - Star Trek / Sydney Opera House world premiere on April 7

Paramount Pictures will hold the world premiere of Star Trek at the Sydney Opera House on April 7, 2009 -- nearly one full month ahead of the movie's general audiences release scheduled for May 8. Additional advance screenings will take place around the world in build-up to the 5/8/09 opening date. However, unless you are a member of the press, work in show business or have a direct connection to the film, don't expect to be able to grab a ticket to see the movie that early. What it does mean for regular joes is that there will be a lot of early review of the new Trek coming out on the web weeks ahead of the movie's opening. You might want to start planning out how much spoiler information you want to read before seeing the film for yourself.
