November 25, 2009 - Shrek 4 / first image

The first two images from Shrek Forever After has been published by USA Today. One shows us what Rumpelstiltskin looks like (seen on the left), the other is of Donkey (voiced by Eddie Murphy.) The paper's article also reveals that the fourth Shrek is planned to be the last in the franchise and the film's plot: the wishmaker Rumpelstiltskin grants Shrek his wish to give him back the fierce quality he had before life as a husband, father and best friend to a talking donkey. Rumpel does that but it turns the land of Far, Far Away upside-down, resulting in an alternate timeline where Puss-in-Boots is an overweight domesticated kitty and Donkey is a beast of burden.

Also mentioned is the news that Kathy Griffin and Kristen Schaal will provide the voices of a pair of witches that are also ogre hunters. As well, Mad Men's Jon Hamm is "the best-looking ogre that you've ever seen," says director Mike Mitchell.
