Writer George Nolfi has been hired to pen the screenplay for the fourth Bourne movie. The as-yet untitled sequelstill has the interest of Bourne Supremacy and Bourne Ultiumatum director Paul Greengrass, as well as star Matt Damon, but the film has been slow to develop to this stage of its development. Nolfi shared co-writing credits on Bourne Ultimatum with Scott Z. Burns and Tony Gilroy so he's familiar with the sit-rep. In its coverage of the story The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that the storyline for Bourne 4 will be a wholly original premise and not borrowed from one of the Bourne novels published after Robert Ludlum's death. That makes sense since the plotlines for Jason Bourne in Ludlum's universe and the one seen in the Universal movies diverged a while back.
