Scooped on Sunday, November 29, 2009
The movie rights to Paul Auster's 1999 novel Timbuktu have been sold to Lakeshore Entertainment (producers of the Underworld and Crank film franchise, among others.) The story follows the journey of a homeless Brooklyn man and his faithful dog Mr. Bones as they set out to reunite with the man's high school English teacher, his mentor. Diane English (creator of Murphy Brown and screenwriter of the 2008 film The Women) is set to adapt Auster's book as well as direct the film.
