For the record, "All Along the Watchtower" was not a Jimi Hendrix original. It was originally written and recorded by ol' Robert Zimmerman. HI MY NAME IS GUS knows this, but a whole lot of people probably don't.

I meant to add the following to my collection of George Harrison misattributions, but I forgot:

I wanted to attribute every Beatles-y song to solo Beatles as a kid. I was probably ten or eleven before I was set straight on this one.

Either you guys all have sex on the brain, or you see the word "masturbated" far more commonly than "misattributed."

If you spend a lot of time on Corona, it's likely both.

I remember when the song "Wishing Well" came out, and a friend kept trying to convince me that it was a Michael Jackson song. I knew it wasn't (the voice was too deep, and too growly), but I guess I can understand why my friend thought this:

Of course he, like me, didn't have cable, so he didn't have MTV, and probably never saw the video. Watching it now, I see a guy who is clearly not Michael Jackson, but who probably wouldn't mind being Michael Jackson.
