Special Editions, Please!

Posted by Gentlemen Death on Friday, February 6, 2009

So, I was going through my library of movies and notcied quite a few classics that never got the treatment for Special Edition DVD's.

Here it is: What movies would you like to see get some Special Features that have not had any before, or you felt you were jipped on with one deleted scene?

Here are some movies I feel should get some Features on it:

First off, I am a huge John Carpenter fan so the majority of the movies here will be his films:

Prince of Darkness: One of Carpenter's films that still kind of creeps me out to the end. The movie is great but the dvd falls apart with NOTHING to offer into the insight of this film. Commentary and making off would be great.

They Live: Once again, awesome movie with NOTHING on the dvd. I have always enjoyed the commentary's from Carpenter and I would be fine with one on here, possibly with Piper and Keith David. Some deleted scenes or possibly making off would be cool as well.

Escape From L.A.: You might be asking yourself, why this one? I don't care what people say, it was still good. Yeah the cgi was weak and some feel that whole L.A. plot line was stupid. But for me, seeing Snake back in action with cool side characters like Maps of the Stars Eddie, was worth it. This DVD has NOTHING on it. A making of, commentary and deleted scenes would be good.

Nightbreed: After just re-qatching this movie recently I thought it would be cool to see Barker's take on how the film came out. Also was interested in seeing the make up effects of the monsters.

Kill Bill Vol.1 and 2: It's been a couple of years since the movie came out and still nothing! I remember Tarantino saying there was going to be a three disc set of making off, deleted scenes and others....And well, still nothing. I also noticed that Tarantino has NEVER done a commentary for any of HIS films....

I know there are more but for now, that will surfice.

I keep my standards low, that way im never dissapointed

DEAD ALIVE peter Jackson thrives as the gorehound we all know and love, he didnt start out on LOTR... nope. all this one offers is a hidden TommyKnockers trailer

NIGHTBREED again... theres over 45 minutes of lost scenes in the Mogan Creek vaults that they childishly wont fork over ANY of it to Clive Barker for the Special Edition HE'd Love to see happen.

I'd like a special edition DVD for There Will Be Blood that's actually worth buying. There's pretty much *nothing* on the second disc that makes the "Collector's Edition" worth buying. There are two deleted scenes (YouTube has them) and a fifteen-minute still frame collage. If you compare that to the the fancy special editions for Boogie Nights, Magnolia, and Punch-Drunk Love, it's especially disappointing.

Star Wars.. I don't care if they used a toilet sink or whatever to shoot an FX, I want some bloopers or comments from the Mark, Harrison, Carrie...

The Dark Knight.. no making of, behind the scenes and/or interview with the actors, yet again. WTF!?!?!

I'm sure we're going to get some kind of uber editions of Batman Begins and TDK after the eventual third Nolan entry into the franchise.

And there's still *more* stuff that's unreleased from the LotR movies, too!

I also vote for Prince of Darkness, Nightbreed, and They Live. THEY RAWK HARD!

I'd like proper special editions of Cars and Ratatouille.

Richard Gozinya, Harold Snatch and Wilbur Jizz. Together we are the law firm Gozinya, Snatch and Jizz.

heck Id settle for special editions of Kill Bill V1 and V2 since those exist only as bare bones disks.
also a complete Grindhouse experience WITH TRAILERS that means both movies BACK-to-BACK with trailers included... thank you very much..
somebody was extremly stupid not to release special editions for Kill Bill... thats a damn tragic shame.
