Tron: Legacy

PS - anyone else think he looks awfully like Milton from Office Space? He could burn down the building.
I think he looks more like Tom than Milton.
I just looked at that guy's tag. I'm too nice to tell him in person, but his Jay costume is a little off. He'd come nearer pulling off a Silent Bob, anyway.
Oh, and I propose that he looks like a cross between Tom and Milton.
Yes, Tom was the full body cast guy.
You see, good things can happen! Now, I need to go work on my TPS report.
Looking at this video, I get the impression that Joseph Kosinski studied at the Zack Snyder School of Badass Slow Motion Cinematography.
It's supposed to be a demo reel, and not a scene from the movie. I'm hoping there will be a minimal amount of Snyder slo-mo "badassery."
The first full trailer is attached to Alice in Wonderland!
At first I thought it was just another silly Disney family movie, until the kid pulled up in front of Flynn's. Then I just about peed my pants. Looks fantastic!
I see you loved Alice. It seems to be a pretty polarizing movie.
Am I committing blasphemy if I say.... whisper it..... that Tron is over rated and actually a bit boring?
It's dumb, like Star Wars.
Dalty, you need to watch it over and over until you like it.

I don't know that I'd say it's overrated. It was never that big a hit. It opened in second place behind E.T. and only made it to 33 million, domestically. For comparison, Disney's other big SciFi movie of the era, The Black Hole (also considered a bit of a flop), made 35 million four years before Tron. It (back to Tron, now) was critically panned (Ebert loved it, but he has always had a hard on for SciFi), and only really embraced by a small group of people. The majority of those who embraced it embraced it for its visuals, and not for its acting, plot, or dialog.
It has a bit of a cult following, but much of that following centers around its value as techporn camp.
That's been my understanding of its following, anyway. I can't say I've heard many people (even among the first wave on-line geek community) go on about how awesome they thought it was. I have, on the other hand, heard a lot of folks my age or a little older talk about how cool it looked to them as kids.
Whenever my computer starts acting up, I assume the bad techies from Tron are winning, so I scream at the top of my lungs "COME ON YOU BLUE COCKSUCKERS! GET YOUR ASS IN GEAR ALREADY!"
The blue guys were the good guys, right?

The blue guys are the good guys, but that doesn't mean you should be rooting for them. Most likely, the red slave masters are the ones who make sure things run on time. The blue guys just want to escape. It's like that T-shirt with the picture of the pyramid on it says: "SLAVERY: IT GETS SHIT DONE."

Oh, dear, someone fetch me a fainting couch, then fetch my smelling salts.
