What are you watching right now? - November Special

Iron Man 3. Kinda meh.
Last week: Gravity. All that and a bag of chips, just brilliant.
Friday: Ender's Game. Not a bad adaptation, mostly faithful although toned down for the screen, and with much less character development of all minor characters (which is the nature of film, I guess).
Today: 12 Years a Slave. Absolutely fantastic all the way around. Deserves all the accolades it's getting. May be the best movie I've seen all year.
We finally get to go to the movies this next weekend :D
My mom is going to watch Jubboiter, so that Goiter and I can drive to St. Louis to see the new Thor in glorious 2D with Mal.
I haven't been to the movies since Iron Man 3.
Sweepstake now running on the number of "You're Thor, I can barely sit down!" type gags Goiter uses during or immediately after the trip??
Arrow. I really dig this show. I think it's a good example of how a 'lesser' character can be given a good run out, and made interesting, in the TV format.
11 minutes in and confused. If Drac was being revived at the beginning after his death in the book...... how come all other players like Harker & Lucy & Holmwood & Renfield & Mina are all about?
Is it going reimagining rather than sequel?
Yes, reimagining. It looks like Drac is kind of a good guy, dealing with this evil cult or counsel or whatever.
Yeah, trying to make him sympathetic. At that part now. Better get Gary Oldman and Spock's mum on the phone.......
51 mins in. I had forgiven it everything and actually started to dig it.
Then it had the speed up/slo-mo roof-top fight with the trailer BWRAAM and I am back to square one.
You should have stopped at 51.
Reimagining is not bad. Reinvention can be good. A new way of telling an old story can be interesting and fun.
But you don't need to shit on the legacy.
We could CG the boulder! And the face melting! And the snakes! And the sword fight! And Karen Allen!
Here's this:

I forgive the guy his obvious German transcription errors.
I think he just clung to Kong's belly, who was being towed behind.
He used Lucas's second chin as a floatation device.
Lucas's second chin didn't exist yet, of course. The aliens from the fourth film had to take it back through time.

Now onto The Walking Dead.
I love Sunday TV catch-up time!
