Jose Padilha is attached to direct Agent in Place, a new film project at Lionsgate based on a video game being created by Union Entertainment. Braulio Mantovani will write the screenplay for the gamerflick while Lionsgate executive Alli Shearmur and Union Entertainment's Richard Leibowitz will produce. Game creator Flint Dille and Dan Jevons will receive executive producer credit.

Details on the game's premise are being kept secret but it's described as an action-thriller with strong emphasis on characterization. Union also set up its video game Blacklight as a feature at Fox. [Full story]
