Sneaking up on us is the first trailer for The Bay, a new found footage horror movie directed by Barry Levinson. Yeah, the same Barry Levinson that brought us Diner and Wag the Dog, and is known for his dramatic works. Life is full of surprises, right?
Levinson may not have had any previous experience mixing it up with this new genre but as you'll see in the trailer below, he seems to have adequately nailed the feel and look of a found footage film. Also bolstering support that The Bay will line up with audience expectations is that Jason Blum and Steven Schneider are two of the producers of The Bay. Both men are also producers on the highly successful Paranormal Activity franchise over at Paramount Pictures, and Schneider also was a producer on last year's horror movie Insidious.
While there aren't any high profile actors starring in the movie, the lead is played by actress Kristen Connolly. If you watched The Cabin in the Woods when it came out earlier in the year, you saw her playing the character of Dana in that film. Michael Beasley, Christopher Denham, Anthony Reynolds, Kether Donahue, and Andy Stahl also star in The Bay.
See what you think of Levinson's The Bay by taking a look at the movie's first trailer. The Bay is presently scheduled for a late Halloween treat, arriving in theaters on November 2.
