Screen rights to Paul Guinan and Anina Bennett's speculative fiction book Boilerplate: History's Mechanical Marvel have been opted by Paramount Pictures, with J.J. Abrams (Star Trek) to produce via his Bad Robot company. Published last year, Guinan's book is a collection of Photoshopped photos and artwork that is presented as a document of the world's first thinking robot and its many adventures through the late 19th century and into the First World War.
