Rose McGowan has secured a part in the new Conan movie playing a villainous half-human, half-witch creature. Film fans with a good memory may recall that the redhead was attached to play Red Sonja in a movie that was developed by Conan's production team of Nu Image and Millennium Films. Alas, that fantasy movie seems to have fallen into development hell.

Taghmaoui played the role of Breaker in last summer's G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra movie. Filming on Conan is supposed to start this week on the project in Bulgaria.

Stephen Lang has confirmed Latino Review's scoop: he'll play Conan villain Khalar Singh.
"I have no idea how I'm going to do it," Lang told MTV. "First I'm going to find out how I'm going to sound. I'm going to get back on a Mongolian pony and ride like the wind. I'm going to flash my scimitar. I'm going to cut the nuts off Conan and his father."

She probably won't be seen wearing the long red hair that she sported for her role as Scarlett in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra but Rachel Nichols will be in Conan. She's been cast as Tamara, a loyal bodyguard to a Queen that is kidnapped by the film's villain, Khalar Singh.

Latino Review broke the story first, so we're giving them the linklove: Stargate Atlantis cast member Jason Momoa has won the role of Conan. According to the reliable movie news website, Momoa was one of several candidates screentesting for the barbaric role (including Supernatural's Jared Padalecki and Twilight's Kellan Lutz.) What got Mr. Tall, Dark and Handsome the role was his last meeting with the Lionsgate executives where he supposedly "charmed the pants off" the suits.
The Latino crew goes a step further and adds that an offer has gone out to Mickey Rourke (The Wrestler, Iron Man 2) to play Conan's father Corin.
