The first trailer for Cop Out, the film that was once titled A Couple of Dicks, can be watched below. First made available on Apple (where it can also be viewed in bigger formats), we've also got title art and an official synopsis:

"Two longtime NYPD partners on the trail of a stolen, rare, mint-condition baseball card find themselves up against a merciless, memorabilia-obsessed gangster. Jimmy (Bruce Willis) is the veteran detective whose missing collectible is his only hope to pay for his daughter's upcoming wedding, and Paul (Tracy Morgan) is his 'partner-against-crime' whose preoccupation with his wife's alleged infidelity makes it hard for him to keep his eye on the ball."

Kevin Smith regular Jason Lee and Buffy the Vampire Slayer alumni Michelle Trachtenberg have joined the cast. Lee will play the stepfather of Trachtenberg's character while the actress is playing the daughter of Bruce Willis' detective character.

Gossip site Accidental Sexyness had this photo plus three others showing Brucey and Tracey on the set of the film.

Seann William Scott (Role Models) and Adam Brody (The O.C.) have been added to the cast. Scott will play a thief called the Shit Bandit by police for the mementos he leaves behind at his robberies while Brody is a caustic detective who would rather not be helping the film's two main characters (Bruce Willis and Tracey Morgan).

Variety may have been incorrect when the magazine reported that Warner Bros. had changed the title of the film to A Couple of Cops. According to Slashfilm, their WB source informs them that the working title for the project remains A Couple of Dicks.

Kevin Smith has hitched his trailer onto Warner Bros. for his next paycheck. The Clerks director will make A Couple of Cops for the studio, his first project outside of the Miramax/Weinstein circle. Attached to star in the film are Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan as the titular law enforcement officers caught up in a big mess.

Previous to Willis and Morgan's involvement Robin Williams and James Gandolfini were attached. Back then the script had also been called A Couple of Dicks, but it looks like WB neutered it. [Full story]
