Nicolas Cage will provide the voice of a caveman named Crug in The Croods, a new computer generated animated movie in development at DreamWorks Animation. Cage is a father who, after his family home gets destroyed by an earthquake, relocates his family to a new patch of ground. As Crug tries to figure out what new people and creatures are living in this region of the world, he also tries to keep one of the locals (to be voiced by Ryan Reynolds) from making the moves on his daughter.
Sharing directing and writing duties are Chris Sanders (Lilo & Stitch) and Kirk DeMicco (Space Chimps). The story was developed by DeMicco and Monty Python member John Cleese.
DreamWorks Animation has set a release date of March 30, 2012 for the picture. [Full story]
