At the press junket for Land of the Lost, CHUD's Devin Faraci asked Danny McBride about this recently announced project and got some new info. McBride said that in their announcement story Variety over-emphasized the football player element for the character he will play in the Hench film. Bigger news for comic book fans is that McBride said that he's trying to convince Warner Bros. to let them populate the Hench movie with an array of DC universe supervillains.

Eastbound and Down star Danny McBride is attached to star in Hench, a film based on the graphic novel created by Adam Beechen and Mario Bello. In the comic the main character is a former professional football player who, after he sustains a career-ending injury, switches careers to become a henchman for a supervillain.

McBride will write the screenplay with Eastbound and Down staff writer Shawn Harwell. Neal Moritz (the Fast and Furious series) and Jason Netter (Wanted) will produce while Ken Levin and Ori Marmur will executive produce. [Full story]
