Universal Pictures is in contract negotiations to acquire the movie rights to Lego's Hero Factory line of toys. Also in contract talks are Predators screenwriters Alex Litvak and Michael Finch to develop the screen story for the movie, which will borrow from the figures' background mythology.

In Lego's Hero Factory universe, heroes are constructed in a space factory. From this planet the newly made creations go off across the universe to face the toughest adversaries, capturing them and bringing the villains back to a holding cell on the Hero Factory homeworld.

55 figures have been released to date in the Hero Factory line-up.
