When a photograph showing former Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe shows up with the actor sprouting a pair of devil-like horns on the top of his brow, a sensationalistic headline can't be very far behind.
The first image showing Radcliffe in his new movie Horns was published today. In the horror film Daniel is playing Ignatious "Ig" Parrish, a 26-year-old small town man who wakes up the morning after drinking to find horns beginning to sprout from his forehead. Shortly thereafter Ig finds himself accused of the rape and murder of his girlfriend. With everyone in town horrified that Ig is somehow turning into the devil incarnate, it's up to him to uncover the mystery behind the violent killing of his beloved and the reason why the horns are growing out of his body.
And there's one other thing: Ig's horns are also giving him the supernatural ability to make people tell him the absolute truth -- and to also give into their darkest emotions.
Horns is based on the same novel by Joe Hill, son of horror writer Stephen King (proving that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.) The movie is being directed by Alexandre Aja (Piranha 3D) and also stars Juno Temple, Joe Anderson, Kelli Garner, Max Minghella and James Remar.

The movie rights to Joe Hill's second novel Horns have been preemptively picked up by Mandalay Pictures. The book will be published by William Morrow come February.
Horns is about a 26-year-old man who wakes up from a blackout hangover to discover the stubs of horns growing out of his head. As the stubs increase in size the man begins to suspect that the reason why they are there has to do with the unsolved murder of his girlfriend.
Hill is the son of Stephen King. His first novel, Heart-Shaped Box, was published using an abbreviated version of his middle name as his surname but the story soon emerged of Hill's famous parentage. The film rights for Heart-Shaped Box reside at Warner Bros.
