The first trailer for The Ides of March has come out. Our first thoughts? Well, it gives the movie an appearance of being a political drama with thriller aspects, and it might also give too much of the storyline away. Whether you want to watch it and make that judgement for yourself is up to you.

Casting rumors about this project, reportedly George Clooney's next one as director, have emerged courtesy of Vulture. Leading the charge is speculation that Clooney is reaching out to Star Trek's Chris Pine to play the lead role of Stephen Myers, a part that he took on when he starred in the Los Angeles stage play production from last year.
Offers are also allegedly going out to Philip Seymour Hoffman to play Paul Zara, Myers' boss; Paul Giamatti as the campaign manager of the Senator seeking reelection; Marisa Tomei as a journalist; and Evan Rachel Wood as a teen staffer. Clooney may even take a small part in his movie playing the candidate that Chris Pine's character is trying to get elected.
Vulture also adds that Clooney is also looking to financiers to come aboard and back his movie.
