A new video clip highlights the emphatic bond between Charles Rodman (played by John Lithgow) and Caesar the chimpanzee. Rodman is suffering from Alzheimer's Disease and in these two scenes we see how Caesar displays caring and protects his human friend from a dangerous situation.

It's been said that if you hang around enough, what was in becomes in all over again. On that thought, 20th Century Fox has decided to once again change the title of this film, except now it's all retro sounding: Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

The studio has decided to change its mind again and return Rise of the Apes to a summer 2011 berth. The apeness is now scheduled to arrive in theaters on August 5, 2011.

The first official still from the Rise of the Apes film was given to JoBlo.com today. In it we see James Franco's scientist character doing scientific things in a science lab. No apes. They must be arriving later in the marketing campaign.

Harry Potter cast member Tom Felton is the latest confirmed addition to the cast of Rise of the Apes. The actor, who played Draco Malfoy throughout all eight Harry Potter films, has been cast in the part of Brian Cox's son in the Apes film. The son is co-owner of the ape facility which Cox's character is a cruel owner of.

Brian Cox (Zodiac, Troy, X-Men 2) is in talks to join the cast of Rise of the Apes. If his deal goes through Cox will play the film's villain, the owner of a primate sanctuary. He runs the facility with an iron fist, abusing the animals. This sets the stage for the uprising that Caesar will lead against the humans.

A publicist using a Twitter account for 20th Century Fox made the announcement that Andy Serkis will be providing the motion capture performance of the ape Caesar in the movie. Serkis also provided the mo-cap work (and voice) for Gollum in Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy as well as the performance of King Kong in Jackson's 2005 remake.

John Lithgow and Freida Pinto have joined Rise of the Apes. The Third Rock From the Sun actor will play the Alzheimer's suffering father of James Franco's character while the Slumdog Millionaire actress is a primatologist.

20th Century Fox has announced a release date of June 24, 2011 for Rise of the Apes, the project that was once called Caesar in its development. A prequel/reboot of the studio's Planet of the Apes film franchise, Rise will be directed by Rupert Wyatt (The Escapist) from a script by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver. Peter Chernin and Dylan Clark are producing through Chernin Entertainment.
It was also revealed that the apes will be entirely made using computer graphics, a first for a Planet of the Apes film. The CG will be done by Weta Digital, the studio that created the majority of effects for Avatar and the Lord of the Rings movies.

The Planet of the Apes prequel Caesar has moved into active pre-production by opening offices at Mammoth Studios in Burnaby, B.C.. This is the same studio where The Chronicles of Riddick was shot and is one of the biggest soundstages in Vancouver. The first day of filming is scheduled for mid-July. Casting has not been announced yet.
