In this new clip from Thor, there's a quick shot of a guy armed with a bow observing the fight between the god of thunder and one of the SHIELD security men. Surely there can't be two guys in the Marvel movie universe using a bow, right? This has got to be our first glimpse at the Avenger known as Hawkeye (played by Jeremy Renner.)

A brand new trailer for this year's thunder god movie dropped on the internets today, giving us our first look at The Destroyer (that robot-lookingf guy with the heat ray you're about to see.) What's also interesting from a marketing perspective is that this new Thor trailer downplays the sorcery and magic component of the story and gives attention to the human characters that the Norse thunder god interacts with.

The French have been spotting this teaser poster for the Thor movie in the lobbies of their cinemas for the last couple of weeks. We could crack a joke about what a Norse thunder god sounds like when yelling in french, but we won't.

An informant for The Wrap has said that Jeremy Renner will make a cameo in the Thor movie playing Hawkeye, the Marvel superheroic archer. Renner is a member of The Avengers cast, so it seems that his appearance in Thor serves much of the same purpose that Samuel L. Jackson's cameo at the end of the first Iron Man did to set up the larger Marvel movie universe.
How large Renner's role is in The Avengers wasn't revealed by the scooper.

Yesterday a site called ComicBookMovie put the five-minute Thor sizzle reel from Comic-Con online and since then it's proliferated across the net. The studio hasn't as yet released an official statement about the leak. Was it intentional? Part of a viral marketing effort? If it was done without the approval of Marvel or Paramount then it had to have been by someone who had access to the master copy of the Comic-Con footage. So, who did it, and what was their intent?

The curtain was raised today at the Comic-Con Marvel booth allowing visitors to look at the helmets of the Norse gods. Inside a glass display resting at the foot of Odin's throne chair were the actual movie headgear worn by Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Anthony Hopkins (Odin) and Chris Hemsworth (Thor).

Another new photo showing Thor in action has originated at USA Today, this one showing off the Norse god of thunder lifting his magical hammer Mjolnir from an outcropping of stone.
The photo appears in an article talking about the lead-up to Comic-Con, and how Marvel Studios prepared Thor director Kenneth Branagh for the intensity of what is to come. "They said to brace myself, that I'd never seen anything like it," said the director of the annual event.
"It's a bit scary, the power and devotion they have," comments the film's star, Chris Hemsworth, about the comic book savvy fans. "A couple of months ago I was feeling secure and went online to see what people were saying. Some people loved we were doing a movie; some people already hated it. I'll never read comments again."

Sunday's Los Angeles Times published this photo showing an impressive set of Thor, as well as showing us for the first time the characters of Frigga (Rene Russo's character, top left) and Tom Hiddleston's Loki (bottom left) wearing his signature curled helmet. That's Anthony Hopkins as Odin at the top of the dias and Thor kneeling in front of the Norse elder god.

The first reveal of the Thor movie costumes for Odin and Loki took place today as the L.A. Times' Hero Complex blog published the photo along with the news that both this film as well as Captain America will be released in post-production 3D.
Marvel Studios president of production, Kevin Feige, insists that both of the new films won't suffer from a rushed 3D conversion that's effected other pictures. "In being able to think in 3-D from the start -- and having every bit of our special effects rendered in true 3-D -- we have the opportunity to do it right," Feige told the outlet. "When you're working with a director like Ken Branagh or Joe Johnston, they're not going to settle for less than perfect image. They're not going to settle for something that isn't up to the artistry of everything else they've done on the film ... they're not going to put on some overlay in the last 10 to 12 weeks of post-production for a fiscal reason."
