While the film is now playing in theaters, UK residents won't get to see the new Total Recall until it opens there on August 24. The British Board of Film Classification has given the film a rating of 12A for "moderate violence, brief nudity and one use of strong language."

The first trailer for the new Total Recall is now online, offering us a detailed look at how different (and similar) the 2012 version might be to the 1990 one. We'll say this about the trailer: it certainly interests us with the emphasis on action.

This newly sighted teaser poster for the new Total Recall movie is now out in theaters. The thing is, it's a motion poster; when you walk toward and away from it the image will change and Colin Farrell will appear/disappear from view.
Also of note is the launch of the movie's official website which can be found at WelcomeToRecall.com. You can enter your phone number and shortly afterward you'll receive a call from a Rekall representative to discuss your "experience package".

The first image of Colin Farrell in the new Total Recall film has arrived. Nestled within the pages of this week's edition of Entertainment Weekly is the image, a scan of which first appeared on Slashfilm. It gives us an impression of the near future look that the remake is going for.

Star Trek's John Cho will play the sales rep for the company that implants memories into Colin Farrell's mind. The name of his character is McClane.

Kate Beckinsale has been offered the part of Lori in the remake. Played by Sharon Stone in the original film, the character is the wife of the protagonist, Quaid. He discovers that she is actually in on the illusion that his family life is normal and serene.
Beckinsale is married to Total Recall's director, Len Wiseman.

Columbia Pictures is now developing a second film version of Total Recall with Fast and Furious producer Neal H. Moritz developing it. Instead of placing the action about a century ahead of the present day like in the 1990 version that starred Arnold Schwarzenegger, Moritz wants to have the new Total Recall set in the present day.
