Add another $28.6 million dollars to Revenge of the Fallen's domestic box office earnings. That was the dollar amount of tickets sold on the film's second day of release, yesterday. Total domestic gross so far: $89.3 million.
The sequel also earned an additional $20 million from international venues yesterday, bringing the movie's cumulative total for worldwide box office to $169.3 million.

According to the ticket sales tally Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen grossed $60.6 million dollars domestic on its opening day. That would make it the second-highest Wednesday opening ever behind The Dark Knight's $67.2m opening achieved in 2008. [Full story]

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen made an estimated $16 million dollars from early screenings held at midnight. If that figure holds up it will give the DreamWorks sequel the distinction of having the best Wednesday opening ever and the third highest take ever from midnight screenings.

Revenge of the Fallen is playing right now in just two markets, the United Kingdom and Japan, and it's doing great business. The sequel opened in first place in both regions, grossing $14.1 million on 517 screens in the U.K. and $5.8 million on 329 sites in Japan. Both grosses for the second movie are better than the first film's opening weekend.

Two German-dubbed video clips from Revenge of the Fallen have appeared on YouTube. Once you get over hearing Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox speaking in German you realize that these videos give a pretty good taste of some of the action in the sequel.

Industry tracking awareness data shows that the Transformers sequel is positioned to possibly eclipse the record for highest grossing film opening ever. The analysis indicates that Revenge of the Fallen should equal the five day gross of The Dark Knight, around $203 million dollars. [Full story]

If you're really eager to see Revenge of the Fallen before everyone else go buy your pass to this year's Los Angeles Film Festival right now. It was just announced that the second Transformers movie will play on June 22, two days ahead of the rest of the country. If you buy a pass you can buy a ticket to the premiere screening.
