Walt Disney Pictures is developing Aprilynne Pike's young adult fantasy novel Wings as a potential movie for teen superstar Miley Cyrus. The Hannah Montana gal would play Laurel, a 15-year-old that moves from a small town and being home-schooled to attending a big city high school. As if life wasn't turbulent enough for Laurel, one day she is shocked to find a pair of wings sprouting from her back. The reason? She's really a faerie.

The movie will be produced by Marty Bowen and Wick Godfrey, with Miley's mother Tish Cyrus receiving an executive producer credit.

Pike's Wings was just published in May and has already become a bestseller. Three more books in the series are currently planned.
