First screenshot, details from X-Men Origins: Wolverine game

Activision has released details about its upcoming video game tie-in for X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Slated for release to coincide with the movie's May 1, 2009 opening date, the action brawler will be out for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PS2, PSP, Nintendo Wii and DS and PC platforms.

Players will be able to control Marvel Comics' most popular mutant as they battle opponents from the movie using combos and special attacks. The storyline will reflect the movie as well as go further so you will have an expanded story experience. One setting will be at the Weapon X facility where Wolverine's adamantium skeleton was bonded to his bones. Another will have you exploring a region of Africa. It's still unclear whether Hugh Jackman or any of the film's other cast members will voice their characters for the game.

The Wolverine game is being developed by Raven Software for the console and PC versions while Amaze Entertainment is developing the DS and PSP versions.
