When the video game inspired by the Saw horror movie franchise gets released this fall around the same time that Saw VI arrives in theaters the digital Jigsaw will have the same pipes as his film version. Konami announced today that actor Tobin Bell has been hired to lend his voice as the maniacal serial killer in the Saw video game the company will publish.
"It never occurred to us to even try and make a Saw game without Tobin. His voice is one of those intangible elements that make a SAW movie feel like a Saw movie; so having him voice the game was crucial," said David Daniels, Konami's director of marketing.
In the game you play as Jigsaw's latest victim, kidnapped and taken to a deserted insane asylum where the killer has strewn about deadly traps and challenges designed to test your physical and mental endurance. As you face the puzzles and progress through the asylum you will unravel the reason why Jigsaw is inflicting his unique brand of terror upon you. The game will hit Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC consoles around the same time that Lionsgate releases Saw VI in theaters on October 23.
"I am so proud to have voiced Jigsaw in this game," Tobin Bell said about his participation with the game. "I've been very impressed with mechanics of the game. It's terrifyingly smart and intriguing to me! It is a fitting follow-up to the tantalizing games of Saw."
