Trailer: Halo 4

The first day of E3, the world's biggest video game exposition, arrived today. Amid a slew of new game announcements, new game trailers and new platform promises there stands out one heavy-hitter of an announcement: Halo 4, and a targeted release date for holiday 2012.

This is the first Halo game to be developed away from Bungie Studios. After creating the Master Chief and giving us four critically and commercially received Halo games (Halo: Reach being the company's swan song), can new developer 343 Industries rise to the level that Bungie delivered?

This teaser trailer is little more than a drum for Microsoft to beat and try to rally the legion of Halo fans to get behind. Still, it was enough to get me to post a news story about the announcement, so it must be working.
