Exclusive: Game of Thrones season 2 roundtable

Game of Thrones’s second season, based off of George R.R. Martin’s novel A Clash of Kings, is blissfully due to descend on us in just a few weeks’ time.  And though anticipation for the show’s return couldn’t be higher, there seems to be a growing undercurrent of tension or concern among both the fan and journalistic communities.  Showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff have changed the name of Asha Greyjoy, Theon’s sister back on the Iron Islands, to Yara?  The way-cool storyline the crippled Bran Stark has back at Winterfell might be cut and moved to the third season?  Daenerys Targaryen’s minimal presence in the novel might be dramatically expanded – with action scenes?

New Lost commercials hint at final season in different timeline

At this past weekend's Comic-Con Lost panel the show's producers and stars may have raised more mysteries than presented answers to the many questions that still remain. At the end of the fifth season Jack, Sawyer, Kate, Hurley and Juliet's plan to set a bomb off at the Swan station in 1977 seems to have worked; the final frame was of everything going white. The biggest question Losties have now in anticipation of the show's sixth and final season is this: if Jack and his friends created a time paradox and made it so that their airplane never crashed on the island, what does that mean? Three mock commercials that the Lost producers showed during their Comic-Con panel may have answered that question. After you watch the videos maybe the new question that arises is this: does Lost's final season take place in an alternate timeline?

The 11th Doctor wears a bow tie

Everyone's first look at Matt Smith in his Doctor Who costume was unveiled today by the BBC. Pictured to the right is Smith in his duds which seem to draw inspiration from a British school professor. The Army boots are a nice touch.

Casting for HBO's Game of Thrones, the pilot for a proposed new television series based on fantasy author George R. R. Martin's A Song of Fire and Ice seven volume book series, is shoring up quickly. Sean Bean (The Fellowship of the Ring) has won the part of Lord Eddard "Ned" Stark, a man who becomes the closest friend to King Robert (to be played by The Full Monty's Mark Addy.)

20th Century Fox Television is telling the world that when Futurama returns with a slate of all-new 26 episodes on Comedy Central next year the voice actors that gave life to the lines of Fry, Bender, Leela and the rest of the cast won't be returning. Alien Nation getting remade

The Alien Nation franchise is getting a third shot at life. After originating as a 1988 feature film that starred James Caan as a bigoted human cop partnered with a new extraterrestrial member of the LAPD (played by Mandy Patinkin), the Fox network broadcast an ongoing series in 1991. The TV show only lasted for a single season but found a solid enough fanbase that five additional TV movies were made throughout the '90s.
