Exclusive: Game of Thrones season 2 roundtable

Game of Thrones’s second season, based off of George R.R. Martin’s novel A Clash of Kings, is blissfully due to descend on us in just a few weeks’ time.  And though anticipation for the show’s return couldn’t be higher, there seems to be a growing undercurrent of tension or concern among both the fan and journalistic communities.  Showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff have changed the name of Asha Greyjoy, Theon’s sister back on the Iron Islands, to Yara?  The way-cool storyline the crippled Bran Stark has back at Winterfell might be cut and moved to the third season?  Daenerys Targaryen’s minimal presence in the novel might be dramatically expanded – with action scenes?

CBS announces 2009-2010 line-up

There weren't any major suprises when CBS unveiled its 2009-2010 schedule today. No new CSI spinoff (but there is a new NCIS show), another season's worth of Survivor, the pick-up of Medium from NBC as a companion show to The Ghost Whisperer and the move of The Mentalist (photo on right) from Tuesdays to Thursdays. The eyeball network is maintaining its pace by delivering to its viewers much of the same programming from '08-'09.

Monsters vs. Aliens pilot, Kung Fu Panda series in the works

Nickelodeon is getting into bed with DreamWorks Animation on two different projects. Last week the first venture was announced: a CG-animated Nick series based on Kung Fu Panda, the 2008 hit that earned DWA $631 million dollars worldwide last summer.

A flashing glimpse of ABC's Flash Forward

Here's a preview of one of ABC's new 2009 series, Flash Foward. Developed by David Goyer (The Dark Knight) and Brannon Braga (Star Trek: Voyager, Threshold) and based on the science fiction novel by Robert J. Sawyer, Flash Forward follows what happens when everyone in the world blacks out at the same time and for 2 minutes and 17 seconds. Most people saw a vision of their future lives while others saw nothing, meaning that they won't be alive when the events seen in the flash forward happen.

NBC's 2009-2010 schedule

ABC announces 2009-2010 schedule

ABC has announced its plans for the 2009-2010 broadcast season and it's got a mixture of 11 new dramas and sitcoms to offer viewers. Hit shows like Grey's Anatomy, Ugly Betty and Desperate Housewives are to serve as the foundation for the network's freshman offerings but for Wednesday nights especially it's a whole new crop of content for the alphabet network.

Fox's 2009-2010 schedule announced

More reality dancing competitions, laughs on Friday night and Fringe taking on the big guns by moving to Thursday nights. Today Fox announced its fall 2009 and winter 2010 programming schedule, telling everyone what shows were coming back, which ones were not and what's new under the sun.

Dollhouse about to be renewed?

Fans of Joss Whedon's beleagured Dollhouse series are taking what Variety is reporting today as a hopeful sign of things to come. The show business magazine reports that insiders privy to Fox's decision making process are stating that the network will pick up Dollhouse for a second season, albeit with only 13 episodes ordered at the present time.

Robot Chicken peeps making Titan Maximum

The gang behind Adult Swim's top-rated Robot Chicken are branching out with a second series and they're not tossing away their action figures to make it. The new stop-motion animated series is called Titan Maximum and like the Chicken, it's going to be comedic. Unlike the Chicken, it won't be stand-alone short vignettes but a show with a premise and ongoing characters.

Mad Men delays return until August

The third season of AMC's critically praised Mad Men series begins filming today in Los Angeles. Fans of the show were expecting to see how the second season cliffhanger resolved sometime in July, the month that the previous seasons of Mad Men had started, but according to Variety the purveyors of ad exec Don Draper will have to tough it out for one more month.

NBC picks up six pilots for 2009-2010 season

NBC has announced the pick-up of six pilots for its 2009-2010 new season: the family drama Parenthood, the medical dramas Mercy and Trauma, the sci-fi drama Day One, and the comedies 100 Questions and Community.
